Life is not perfect, but there are things that make it easier. Softer (at this point call me an advocate for soft life). More manageable. And honestly? I can take all the help l can get.

So here are 5 things that genuinely make my life easier right now.

1. Prayer

There is only so much I can do as a human being. Most things in this life require money and unfortunately, I do not have unlimited supplies of that yet. But guess what ke? Prayer is free.

And that alone comforts me.

I love that man upstairs shame. You should use Him too. Try praying. Even at the smallest inconvenience you experience. Even if it’s “God, please help me through today”. There’s something so therapeutic about surrendering things you cannot control.

And the craziest thing? Prayers actually get answered. Maybe not always immediately. Let’s talk about patience another day. But eventually when He answers them? Yoh. Looking back and realizing that certain things you cried about worked themselves out? That’s the cherry on top for me.

2. My Period App

I use the My Calendar app and I have been using it for over a decade now. But only recently have I started using it to the max.

And now that I am fully using it? I am understanding my body better. Writing down notes on the app to track patterns,

and understanding why I suddenly hate everybody for three business days straight; it helps a lot. And those notifications warning about Bloody Mary…life saver! Gives me a few days to prepare myself for the next days mentally.

3. Journaling

This one goes hand in hand with prayer for me.

Journaling has become such a safe space in my life. Especially during those moments where praying out loud feels impossible because there’s just too much happening in my head and heart.

Sometimes writing feels easier than speaking.

So I write letters to God. I vent. I ramble. I complain a little. I cry on paper. And I always feel lighter afterwards.

And another thing, I enjoy going back to old journal entries and seeing prayers that were answered. Seeing how much God changed me along the way. And also laughing a little at the things I was stressing about.

And of course… there are still some things we are nyengeteraring for.

4. My Smart Watch

And yes, it’s original please. Let me flex small.

I’m a runner guys. A seasoned athlete actually. Okay fine. Jokes. But we try.

My smart watch genuinely motivates me to move my body more and it came from a place of love so I do need to use it beyond aesthetics and checking time.

5. Writing Down My To-Do Lists

This one mainly saves me at work because there’s always a million things happening.

And when I say I write EVERYTHING down, I mean EVERYTHING. Even the things that sound silly and stupid.

Because best believe if I don’t write it down? It will absolutely come back to haunt me later.

Writing things down helps me organize my brain. The guy I share my home WiFi with actually does this too. And honestly? He’s onto something.

Whether it’s work tasks, errands, or budgeting; seeing things physically written down makes life feel less chaotic. Also ticking or scratching out things is nice, makes me feel productive.

Also errands? Yoh. If I don’t write down all the places I need to go to, I will definitely come back home having forgotten one important thing and then I have to leave the house again which annoys me deeply. Recent story this one.

Bonus Point: My Blender

Love her DOWN.

I haven’t had her for long and honestly ngiyayiphaphela shame, but wow… what a lifesaver.

Especially for my homemade health shots because apparently we are trying to care about our health now. Also smoothies? Obsessed.

So yeah… these are some of the little things currently making my life easier.

Not groundbreaking things. Just small small things quietly helping me survive adulthood.

What are yours?

Love and light 🧡
