This week has been International Customer Service Week, and brands have been showing us LOVE! The activations, the giveaways, the appreciation…love to see it.
All this customer appreciation reminded me that I owe you Part 2 of My Favourite Zim Brands That Slap.
If you missed Part 1, catch up here: https://fikilenomadlozi.co.zw/2026/08/21/my-favourite-zimbabwean-snacks-food-products-the-zim-brands-that-slap/
Now, let’s get into it!
Everyday powdered milk
Everyday slaps every day. Pun intended.
I have almost completely cut sugar out of my diet, but one thing is certain: I will NOT put sugar in my tea. Milk or no milk. How this started as a joke and became a lifestyle is a story for another day.
Everyday gives my tea that little sweetness I need, and I love that I can use it for other things, including cereal and apparently you can bake with it too. Versatility, baby!
Coca-Cola, aka Kokakora, aka iKhokho
I know. I’m cutting sugar, so why am I here talking about Coke?
GUYSSSS! That fizz down the throat! 😭
I have been trying Coke Zero Sugar as I work on my sugar intake, and I’m curious about the new black can I’ve been seeing advertised as zero sugar, zero caffeine. Delta, please bring it to our shelves. Some of us are ready to volunteer as tribute!
Buttercup margarine 🧈
The secret to any great white sauce? Buttercup. There, I said it!
I love pasta with white sauce, and the guy I share my home Wi-Fi with can confirm that I am, in fact, the pasta queen. My pasta slaps, and Buttercup is part of the magic. I will not be taking questions at this time. 😂
Olivine tomato sauce 🍅
Still gushing over Olivine, part 2 cannot be part 2 without talking about this one. Growing up, I wanted a tomato sauce that could give All Gold a run for its money. Olivine said, “Say less.”
Guys, this one surprised me! The taste, the packaging, AND the price? We love a local brand that understands the assignment without making our wallets cry.
Proton Bread
Bread has NO business being this nice.
What do you mean I can eat a slice without spreading anything on it? Just bread. By itself. Happily.
Proton can take my dollar every day. It’s okay.
Let’s keep celebrating our own! 🇿🇼
One thing I love about food is the memories attached to it. The childhood snacks, the familiar flavours, the products that have found a permanent home in our kitchens.
And while I love seeing brands appreciate us, their customers, a good product will always be one of the best ways to keep us coming back.
Now tell me, which Zimbabwean brand is it for you? 👀
Share this with your chomeez, and let’s give our fav brands their flowers. Food or not, I just love food 😬
Love & light 🧡
