The gospel of waking up early is not a new thing. The “5AM Club” promises productivity, discipline, clarity, success. Wake up before the world. Own your morning. Win the day.

And honestly? I get it.

For someone with a typical 9–5 job, waking up early actually makes a lot of sense. Because there is too much to do and too little time.

The older I get, the longer my to-do list becomes.

I need to:

• Study and learn new things

• Stay active (running, skipping rope, anything to keep the body moving)

• Socialize and nurture friendships

• Love on my family properly

  • I need to be a dinosaur for my son.
  • I need to read him bedtime stories.
  • And let’s not forget the guy I share my home WiFi with

Then there’s the side hustle…haaa weeeh ma!!! Remember that soft life we’re all chasing? Yeah… that one requires burning the midnight oil.

Because if you’re my age, with a teka-tekaring bank balance like mine, there’s really no time to be relaxed. Asikho iskhathi samatope.

So yes, the 5AM Club philosophy makes sense.

The Problem though, I Am Not a Morning Person

If morning people were ranked, I would probably be sitting somewhere near the bottom of that list.

The idea of waking up early and then actually doing something productive feels like a personal attack.

My current routine looks something like this.

After work, I try to squeeze everything into one evening.

I

• Go for a run

• Come back and bath (asigezeni guys)

• Cook for my family (which I genuinely enjoy most days)

• Work on my side hustle

• Try to read

• Read with my son

And before I know it, the evening starts to feel like another full workday.

Everything is happening in the same few hours.

It’s a lot.

Lately I’ve been experimenting with something different.

I’ve been cooking earlier than usual. It sounds small, but it’s actually helped.

Dinner gets done earlier, which means later in the evening I can:

• unwind

• read

• do some side hustle work

without feeling like I’m racing against the clock. The only problem? I haven’t been running. So something hasn’t been done, that ought to be done.

So Maybe the 5AM Club Does Have a Point. But whyyyy must it be 5AM? 😭

Why can’t productivity come at 7AM like a normal person?

So This Is a Cry for Help

Before I officially surrender and become one of those 5AM Club girlies, I need advice.

If you’re juggling:

• a full-time job

• family

• fitness

• personal growth

• side hustles and so much more

then you know the struggle.

Tell me:

is waking up at 5AM  the only answer…??

what else can I try?

Help a girl out.

Love and light🧡

I have tried 5am club. It worked for a while but didn’t feel sustainable long term. For me. I’m a night owl. I have moved serious brain work to night time (aware that not everyone has that privilege)
